Volunteers

It takes a village to support a successful Nordic Ski season, and the ISD 196 Nordic Ski Team takes pride in the outstanding volunteer support from skiers' families. We thank you!

For each season, the family/parent volunteer expectations are 2 volunteer shifts per skier in a family. Volunteers may be a skier's parents, grandparents, siblings, another family member, neighbor, etc.

There are many opportunities for volunteering available throughout the season. This includes

• Course maintenance at Valleywood, including course setup and course teardown
• Race-day support for teams, like
  • Organizing, providing, and collecting skiers' bibs and capes
  • Serving as a course monitor
  • Watching over the team camp
• Hosting a waxing pod
• Chaperoning training trips
• Assisting with the ski rental process at the beginning of the season and ski return at the end of the season
• Handing out and collecting ski uniforms
