Practice Workouts

At the beginning of the season, the coaches will meet with all interested skiers to assist them in establishing personal goals for the season. Once these goals have been set, both group and individual workouts will be developed for the team for the remainder of the season.

Initial workouts may be dry land and consist primarily of

  • Running with ski poles,
  • Hill bounding,
  • Plyometrics,
  • Circuit workouts, and
  • For those who have the necessary equipment, roller skiing. See Roller Skiing for more information.

Strength work will generally be undertaken as part of outdoor training and will focus on circuit workouts.

We expect to have five coaches at most of our practices this year. Coaches will rotate between training groups, so that all groups will profit from the input of each coach.
